Official League Rules - Last Update: Jan 1st, 2007

* This section is maintained by the Premier League Rules Administrator in coordination with the upper staff.
* It is the responsibility of all league competitors to be familiar with these rules.
* The League Staff reserves the right to refuse League access to anyone for any reason at any time.
* Any of these rules can be adjusted by the league coordinators if there is sufficient reason to do so.
* Information on League structure and format, which varies from season to season, may be found here.

PLAYER CONDUCT

Conduct must be appropriate while in Chaos/League Zone (in-game and on the official website and forums) at all times. The current system in place tracks ALL warnings and offenses a player receives and will apply exponentially increasing punishment lengths for each additional offense. For example, if you break a rule and then break a rule 3 years later, it will be your 2nd offense and increased punishment will apply.

  • Certain types of messages/nicks/squadnames (such as racist remarks, harassment, or extreme prejudice/bigotry of any form) will be dealt with harshly.
  • Do not interrupt or disrupt practices at any time.
  • Practice matches are subject to League Game guidelines and may be enforced by refs for the sole purpose of smoother games.
  • Abusing the bots in ANY fashion will cause you to lose your bot use privileges for an extended period or indefinitely. Other punishments may also be applied.

A moderator can take whatever action they feel is necessary to control an inappropriate situation and deter the player from causing it again in the future. Mod/ref actions may involve preventing a misbehaving player from sending any more messages, locking a player in spectator mode, and banning the player from the zone. If a moderator ask you to stop behavior deemed inappropriate, you must follow their directions immediately. Do not question a moderator's decision. If a player becomes argumentative, belligerent or rude to the ref/mod, they may be kicked out of the zone and may become ineligible for future matches. Pending a decision by the League Manager, the player may also be permanently banned.

The Premier League staff is not responsible for any problems a player being punished may cause in a match, if they are still allowed to play.

Please Note: Approaching staff members in-zone to argue about a punishment may be deemed harassment--especially if you are belligerent or impolite--and will more often than not lead to a much longer punishment. As emotions tend to run high in all these situations we highly recommend you ?logbuffer the event and go cool off. Later, if you are 100% positive you were punished unfairly or by mistake you may consider filling out the Punishment Appeal Form. Posting your version of events concerning a punishment on the public forums is not recommended and may incur further action if they are malicious, misleading, or intended to cause harm or dissent. Harassing or degrading the staff or zone elements on the message boards in non-constructive fashion may lead to loss of board privileges as well.

MODERATORS CONDUCT

Moderators, commonly known as refs, play the game just like everyone else but they do deserve some added respect. Mods/staff are generally not permitted to use the ?ignore feature while logged in as a staff member (usually denoted by a '+' after their name). If you repeatedly harass them personally they can take action. They can report you to a Sysop and silence you temporarily. In these types of situations, the moderator can only take action if he/she is threatened or repeatedly harassed (logs will be important in cases such as this).

However, moderators abusing power is totally UNACCEPTABLE. If you find blatant evidence of abuse among the staff please log the events and get screenshots if possible. Witnesses will also help your case. If a staff member is confirmed as abusing their powers in a way considered detrimental to the zone or players they (the ref) will be subject to termination and banning.

TEAM CONDUCT

It is the responsibility of the teams to always play within the boundaries of the rules, uphold any team specific restrictions, and to play all their games in good faith. It is the responsibility of the captain of the team to make sure that the team is not breaking any premier league rules and that the team is always playing with the desire to do the best that they can. The league may take any actions they deem necessary if any team is outside these boundaries. Good sportsmanship is required of all Premier league teams (excluding any "friendly" trashtalk that does not go beyond what is allowed under the player conduct set of rules). Violations during matches may lead to overturning match results and suspension from league.
